AI driver safety camera systems for fleets.
The AI driver safety camera system that detects fatigue, distraction, lane departure, tailgating, and the full suite of unsafe driving behaviors — in real time, with in-cab alerts that give drivers the chance to self-correct before incidents happen.
Real-time DMS and ADAS detection. Coaching dashboard. Cloud event clips. Built for fleets where driver behavior is the largest controllable cost.
Real-time behavior detection. Real coaching outcomes.
An AI driver safety camera system uses edge AI processing to analyze driver behavior and road conditions continuously, detecting unsafe events as they happen. Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) watch the driver — fatigue, distraction, phone usage, seatbelt compliance, smoking. Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) watch the road — lane departure, tailgating, forward collision risk, rolling stops.
When the system detects an unsafe event, an in-cab audio alert gives the driver the chance to self-correct in the moment. The event is captured as a cloud video clip with timestamp and GPS metadata. Safety managers review prioritized events in a coaching dashboard, score drivers over time, and document coaching activity.
The result: documented behavior improvement that affects insurance premiums, CSA scores, claim frequency, and incident severity.
Fleets where driver behavior is the business.
Long-haul trucking
Driver fatigue is the #1 controllable cost driver in OTR operations. Real-time fatigue detection wakes drivers up before incidents happen. Long-route distraction detection catches phone usage and inattention. Lane discipline data supports coaching for new drivers and ongoing monitoring for experienced drivers.
Insurance-driven fleets
Insurance carriers increasingly reward fleets with documented driver safety programs. AI-detected behavior data, coaching documentation, and trend reporting are the metrics carriers want to see. Many fleets see meaningful premium reductions after deploying AI driver safety systems with active coaching programs.
Safety-conscious fleet operations
Coaching from gut feel doesn't change driver behavior. Coaching from real video, real metrics, and real time-stamped events does. AI driver safety gives safety managers the tools to actually improve outcomes — not just talk about safety.
What the AI driver safety camera system includes.
An AI driver safety system pairs the standard windshield-mounted dash cam with a dedicated AI camera that monitors both the driver and the road simultaneously. Edge AI processing happens on the camera itself — no cloud round-trip required for real-time alerts. Events trigger in-cab audio coaching and sync to the cloud automatically.
Hardware
- Windshield-mounted HD dash cam — road-facing, continuous recording
- DMS/ADAS AI safety camera — dual-purpose: road-facing optics + driver-facing optics
- Edge AI processing — built into the AI camera for real-time event detection
- In-cab audio alert system — speaker for driver coaching alerts
- 4G connectivity — built into the dash cam unit for cloud sync
- GPS — built-in for event tagging
Software / Cloud
- Real-time event detection — fatigue, distraction, lane departure, tailgating, more
- In-cab driver alerts — audio coaching the moment unsafe behavior is detected
- Cloud event clips — every flagged event captured as HD video clip with metadata
- Coaching dashboard — review events, score drivers, document coaching activity
- Trend reporting — driver and fleet-level behavior trends over time
The full AI behavior detection list
Driver monitoring (DMS)
- • Driver fatigue and drowsiness
- • Distraction and phone usage

AI driver safety lives in Guardian — or Complete.
Recommended package for AI driver safety
Guardian — the AI fleet dash cam
Guardian is built around the DMS/ADAS AI safety camera as its core feature. The skEYElite hardware unit pairs with the dedicated AI camera to deliver the full behavior detection suite, in-cab coaching, and cloud event workflow. Important constraint: Guardian uses the skEYElite hardware's expansion port for the AI safety camera, so it doesn't include a rear or cabin camera on the same vehicle. If you need AI safety AND additional camera angles, the Complete package on skEYE-One supports both.
Pricing
$89/mo per vehicle · From $269 + $165 hardware (or main hardware free with 5-year agreement)
When you need AI safety AND multi-camera coverage.
Complete (skEYE-One)
For fleets that need AI driver safety alongside additional camera angles (rear, cabin, side, cargo, 360°), Complete on skEYE-One hardware supports both simultaneously. Up to 8 channels including the AI safety camera. Common in semi truck operations needing rear trailer cameras, in service vehicles needing cargo coverage, in delivery operations needing rear backing — anywhere the buyer wants both AI behavior coaching AND multi-angle visibility.

What an AI driver safety system costs.
The standard configuration (Guardian package) starts at $269 hardware for the main unit plus $165 for the AI safety camera, with $89/mo per vehicle for the full platform plus AI safety service. Multi-vehicle deployments often qualify for the 5-year agreement which includes the main hardware free across the fleet (the AI safety camera is a separate hardware purchase and is not included in the free hardware offer).
For configurations requiring AI safety alongside multi-camera coverage, Complete on skEYE-One is custom-quoted per vehicle starting at $890 for the base mDVR hardware. Talk to your sales rep during your discovery call for configuration-specific pricing.
